Nanonation Celebrates 15th Anniversary
Lincoln, NE, May 4, 2015:Nanonation, a leader in the interactive and digital signage market, is celebrating the big 1-5 this year.
Founded in 2000, Nanonation started by charging for internet access in bars and cafés. Nanonation quickly evolved into retail interactive experiences, then added digital signage and now sits among a handful of companies that can handle the largest scale digital deployments.
Bryan Fairfield, CEO, remembers that the industry 15 years ago was little more than ATMs, so “15 is a big milestone…we've not only grown up with the digital experience industry…but have helped define and set direction in the industry.”
The core components of the company's first deployments—the ability to lock down a terminal and keep it secure, transfer files securely to a unit, and remotely support a terminal in a public space—made up the platform Nanonation used to launch its interactive and digital signage offerings.
“Most of the competitors in our space have tried to build in those essential components after putting together the digital signage player which, to us, is the easy part of the equation,” says Fairfield.
In these 15 years, Nanonation's software has powered digital signage and interactive experiences in all 50 states and more than 30 countries. The company has grown from a small team of diverse individuals to a full-service team of award-winning talent. Its commitment to excellence and improvement has proven to pay off in deployments that are reliable and effective.
Nanonation prides itself on reliability. On average, the support team receives a call on a deployed terminal only once every four years.
Fairfield adds, “We've seen a lot of new things over the years, but really the same two key elements are most important to our customers. The solution has to work as expected when they open their stores in the morning and it has to provide a positive customer experience. The solutions we've seen deployed over the last 15 years that didn't have these at the top of the list have been the solutions that haven't worked.”
AshLea Allberry, Vice President of Operations, expresses her warm feelings about Nanonation as a workplace, “I feel tremendously blessed to be able to say I look forward to coming to work each day. Nanonation fosters a fun and collaborative work environment, all while producing cutting edge software. There is never a dull moment in our office, and the days and weeks go by so fast. We all spend a significant majority of our time in our careers and to be able to enjoy it makes all the difference in the world.”
One of Nanonation's founders, John Turnipseed, comments, “After 15 years, I still wake up every morning knowing that today I will get to work with great people, creating new and exciting user experiences for clients that I only dreamed of working with when we started this adventure.”
Clients include Build-A-Bear Workshop®, Celebrity Cruises, Louis Vuitton, Mazda, American Eagle Outfitters, and many, many more. Nanonation has won numerous awards over the years, most recently winning 4 Apex awards at the 2015 DSE Conference.
As Fairfield looks forward to the future, he expresses, “In 15 years we've never seen more momentum in the industry than right now!”
