Nanonation had the privilege of creating multiple innovative experiences for the world’s largest Hershey store in Hershey, PA. This sweet space was home to one of the world’s first commercial implementations of Microsoft’s Kinect technology. Nanonation took two of Hershey’s most iconic television commercials, including the famous Kisses Christmas Commercial that has been running since 1989, into gesture-based interactive games of a large video wall. Two games were created. The first was a Hershey Kiss launch based on a popular Hershey commercial show, a whimsical Kiss factory. In this interactive game, players use their entire body to aim and shoot a virtual Hershey’s Kiss candy into a kiss-shaped target displayed on an 84-inch video wall. The second game lets you create melodies by using hand gestures to interact with Hershey’s Kiss bells, with your composition playing back instantly.
Another innovative project involved integrating dynamic LCD displays above each Hershey’s Kiss flavor. These displays, framed to look like round windows, enhance the shopping experience by showcasing real-time product information, flavor descriptions, and vibrant visuals. The content is tailored to highlight each flavor’s unique appeal, and periodically, the displays synchronize content and appear to be looking into a Hershey Kiss animated production line. The engaging digital signage catches the eye and helps customers make more informed choices, creating an immersive and interactive retail environment.
This technology-driven approach refle cts Hershey’s commitment to blending tradition with modern innovation, ensuring that every visit to the world’s largest Hershey store is as delightful as the products themselves.
